Rather than writing up individual reviews for these beers, we’ve come up with a page of beers for our recent trip to Batusji Brewing – which is a brewpub just outside of Sendai station in Miyagi. As these are draught beers, there is no guarantee that they will be on tap if and when you go there.

Batsuji American IPA : Mini Review
Appearance : Dark golden straw colour with a plump sticky head on top that left some lacing. Slight haze to the body.
Aroma : Light citrus aroma of lemon and grapefruit though a touch of off-notes in the aroma with some sulfites present and a touch of plastic.
Body : Medium bitterness to start that segues into a citrus flavour as in the nose. Slight stickiness with a residual off flavour present akin to the nose. Not good.
Batsuji Belgian Pale Ale
Batsuji Belgian Pale Ale : Details
- Alcohol : 5%

Batsuji Belgian Pale Ale : Mini Review
Appearance : Hazy light golden yellow colour with a thick white head that left streaks of bubbles down the edge of the glass.
Aroma : Light Belgian phenols that balanced out against a pilsner malt sweetness. Light hoppy floral notes balanced against the pleasent phenolics.
Body : Medium with pilsner sweetness and Belgian funk present. Slight bitterness though faded fast. Well balanced and well made beer.
