Yonezawa Jacks La France Weizen : Aroma & Taste
Yonezawa Jacks La France Weizen poured out a hazy golden yellow colour – and I really wasn’t trying to get that much head on this beer but it was really lively. So lively in fact that it took about 5 minutes of pouring, waiting, pouring, waiting, and then some more waiting to be able to get a mouthful of beer that didn’t come with a ton of froth as well. The aroma from Yonezawa Jacks La France Weizen was mostly of a light wheat one, with just a faint hint of pear as the beer warmed up. There wasn’t any noticeable hop aroma to the beer though.
The body to Yonezawa Jacks La France Weizen was of a typical hefeweizen – sticky with a strong wheat flavour but that’s where the similarity in flavour ended. The body was a tad on the dry side, in spite of the stickiness, and the pear flavour, which I was hoping to be quite strong, didn’t really shine through or offer up anything really to detract away from the wheat.
Yonezawa Jacks La France Weizen : The Bottom Line
At 935 yen a bottle, I want something amazing – Yonezawa Jacks La France Weizen is anything but. Give it a miss unless you’re trying to find a beer to tick.
