Sakai Kashi Slash Saison : Aroma & Taste

Sakai Kashi Slash Saison poured out a golden orange colour with a thin amount of white head on top that faded to a few bubbles around the side of the glass. The aroma was a mild phenolic one – expected from a saison – but that was it. Supposedly Sakai Kashi Slash Saison has rye malt and honey as a part of the adjuncts used, but I would not have guessed either had been used as there was no aroma of either. Even after letting Sakai Slash Saison warm up – I drank a different beer in the interim – there was still no development of aroma.

The body was more of the same of the nose – a phenolic flavour to the beer with hints of butter. There was no sense of rye spiciness or honey sweetness at all.

Sakai Kashi Slash Saison : The Bottom Line

Sakai Kashi Slash Saison is a bland and boring beer not worth your time.
