Heiwa Craft Beer is a craft beer brewery located in Kainan, in Wakayama prefecture, Japan. The brewery opened in May 2015, with its parent company being a sake distillery that was founded in 1928 – relatively young for a sake distillery in Japan. Like other sake distilleries, the parent company wanted to use the premises for when sake is not being made, which is during the warmer summer months. The distillery got their alcohol license for making beer and happoshu on 4th March 2014, and they also obtained a license to make spirits on 26th May 2014.

I am a bit puzzled by the term “sake distillery”. Whould “sake brewery” not be the better expression?
