Meguro Black Lager is a 5% schwarzbier from Meisterbrau, based in Tokyo, Japan. It’s part of their all-year round bottle range and that’s all we could find out about it.

Meguro Black Lager Aroma and Taste

Meguro Black Lager poured out a pitch black colour with a large frothy white head on top that lingered throughout drinking. There was a strong roasted black malt aroma coming off of it, as well as some chocolate and caramel too. The hops brought a slight earthy tone to it but a definite schwarzbier quality to it.

The body had your bog-standard black lager taste though. Roasted black malt with a hint of earthiness to it but with some hints of chocolate too. It fitted the schwarzbier style perfectly and was very drinkable. The only complaint about Meguro Black Lager was that it was a little over carbonated – I mean, just look at that head on the beer.

Meguro Black Lager The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a decent schwarzbier, then Meguro Black Lager is right up your avenue. Good luck in finding it though!
