Aomori Jifubuki Beer is a 5% pilsner from Aomori Ji-Beer, based in Aomori. It’s part of their all-year round range of craft beers and can be found in both bottles and on tap. The name Aomori Jifubuki Beer translates as drifting snow beer. The man on the front is Osamu Dazai who was a Japanese author who is considered one of the foremost fiction writers of 20th-century Japan. The beer was first made and released on the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2009.

I think this is a lager – I think.

Aomori Jifubuki Beer Aroma and Taste

After having some terrible terrible beers from Aomori Ji-Beer, things couldn’t get much worse, could they? I mean, some of them have been undrinkable while others have just been poor examples of the style of beer they’re supposed to be. With Aomori Jifubuki Beer being a pilsner, one of the most common and popular styles in Japan, surely this would be the beer to turn things around.

And guess what? It wasn’t. If you’ve seen the picture above before reading this review, then you can kind of guess what is coming up. Aomori Jifubuki Beer didn’t even pour out like a pilsner – some dark muddy brown mess with what can only assumed to be some off funky yeast aromas coming off of it. It didn’t smell anything like a pilsner at all. Overly sweet and messy.

Drinking Aomori Jifubuki Beer is even worse as it just tastes like a mess. No real redeeming qualities about this beer besides the fact that it has alcohol in and will get you drunk if you can stomach drinking it.

Aomori Jifubuki Beer The Bottom Line

Give this beer to your enemies or pour it down the sink. I think I’m going to give the rest of these to Joe.
