If you’ve read our review of Nomono in Akihabara here, then you’ll already know what this Ueno branch is about. For those that haven’t:
“Nomono is a purveyor of Japanese craft beer from the eastern climes of Japan; in particular, the Tohoku and Chubu regions of Japan. It was discovered purely by accident after a recent trip to Le Collier in Tokyo station. Trying to find beers from outside of Kanto can be difficult at times; however, the kind staff at Le Collier told us about this Nomono. It was hard to believe at first, “Akihabara? Japanese craft beer? Are you sure?” Turned out the staff knew what they were talking about.”
Nomono in Ueno doesn’t differ much from the Akihabara branch. It’s located outside the barriers of Ueno station though at the central exit and is much smaller than the Akihabara branch. As a result of this, the amount of Japanese craft beer is about half as much as the Akihabara version though with a much quick turnover of breweries on sale. The range is nowhere near as expansive as Le Collier or Liquors Hasegawa. Breweries from Tohoku such as Ginga Kogen, Iwate Kura, and Baeren were represented while breweries such as Oh! La! Ho! and Echigo Brewing represented the Chuetsu region. Prices are the same as the Akihabara branch too.
