Time really is flying by, isn’t it? I’ve been entrusted to write the October Beers of the Month and it’s a tough one this time. Looking back over the month, we’ve had a wide variety of styles and a mixed bag of good and not so good. Seasonal beers, regular beers, and limited edition beers were drunk, opinions cast, and beers of the month decided.
Besides that, we had the Gold’n bub 2nd anniversary party with a review coming soon from Joe. On top of that, we’ve had a few trips to brew pubs in Yokohama, which seems to be becoming a popular craft beer area, along with the rest of Kanagawa. We also had a great time at the Kiuchi Brewery and finally got the interview up. Thanks to all the staff at Kiuchi Brewery for their time, especially Katsuyama-san and of course Kiuchi-san.
In the next few months, we hope to have more second opinions coming through; however, it is great to see so many different styles represented in Japan and the future looks to be becoming more divergent too. Out with the IPA, and in with the ambers, alts, stouts and so on. Time for October Beers of the Month.
