August Beers of the Month

So that time of the month again where we have to pick three of the best beers this month, and I’ve been lumbered with writing it. The new guy. Thanks a lot. July 2014 threw up a new beer with the Coedonado Ichiro’s malt, reviewed here, and two stalwarts of Japanese craftbeers: Aooni IPA and Hitachino Nest Amber ale. Our August beers of the month is slightly different as we have one of the first beers to have a second opinion on BeerTengoku and a surprise beer from Joe.

Anyway, without much further ado, BeerTengoku’s August beer of the month are, in no particular order:

1) Shiga Kogen Indian Summer Saison by Tamamura Honten

Shiga Kogen Indian Summer SaisonThis produced mixed opinions but an overall positive response from Joe and Rob so much so that they both thought it was a good introduction to saisons. Who knows? Maybe they’ve been converted.

2) Nagoya Aka Miso Lager by Morita Kinshachi Brewery

Nagoya Aka Miso Lager

Coming at the end of the month, a surprising acknowledgement here for August beers of the month but a worthy one perhaps? Brewed with Japanese red miso in the mash, this proved to be a surprising choice for the August beer of the month from BeerTengoku.

3) Minoh Pale Ale

Minoh Pale Ale

Perhaps a safe choice here but this is the third and final choice for BeerTengoku’s beer of the month. Kansai readers have been able to get this one for a while, but Minoh have finally relented and allow the Kanto readers to get their hands on this beer.

That’s all the beers for this August beers of the month. Hopefully with the colder months coming, BeerTengoku will have a new batch of beers coming through from our not-so-secret suppliers and stashes to review. Thanks for reading, and as usual, if you have any comments, or you disagree with out reviews, then please let us know.
