I’d just flown back to the mainland from Okinawa (arms tired, ho ho) and wanted a nice, light beer to refresh myself. I went for the Shiga Kogen Pale Ale by Shiga Kogen Beer and tried to formulate some thoughts before I collapsed from exhaustion.
Shiga Kogen Pale Ale Aroma and Taste
This beer pours smooth with no head, which was a bit of a surprise. The nose was light and citrusy, and upon tasting it the mouth feel was hoppy. There was no “kick” that I’d come to expect from pale ales, though. The taste was gentle and mild, not a tongue-shredder like Hitachino brews.
Shiga Kogen Pale Ale One-Line Review
With a well-balanced flavour, this pale ale is nicely drinkable. Glug glug glug.
