Yokohama Session IPA : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

Yokohama Session IPA poured out a very light golden yellow colour with a thin white head on top, though the head didn’t last very long. It faded a thin layer of bubbles on top, with some light rings around the side of the glass.

The aroma coming off the beer when it was chilled was wonderful – a mixture of light white wine notes, with some tropical passion fruit and pineapple eminating through. The malt sweetness was light in the nose, yet as Yokohama Session IPA, the hoppy aroms grew stronger and had some more punch to them. There wasn’t any discernible off-aromas coming from the beer at all.

The body began with a smooth bitterness, that faded quickly off the palate, leaving just the hoppy flavours to enjoy. The passion fruit and pineapple flavours were the first to come through, with a touch of light white wine notes just lingering underneath it all. There was a touch of citrus present in the back end of Yokohama Session IPA, with a low malt sweetness just supporting it all throughout.

Yokohama Session IPA : The Bottom Line

A solid session IPA that I will definitely by buying again.
