Rydeen Session IPA : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Rydeen Session IPA poured out a light golden colour with a slight amount of chill haze present. The head was made up of large fluffy bubbles that stuck to the side of the beer during drinking.
The aroma from Rydeen Session IPA began with a sharp, yet pleasant, aroma of citrus notes – along the lines of grapefruit and lemon. There was a touch of light orange notes present, something that is associated with Amarillo hops. However, Hakkaisan Brewery hadn’t listed what hops were used in the making of this beer. As the beer warmed up, there was a light malt sweetness present that helped to bring a bit of change to the beer.
At 4%, this beer was light on the alcohol and with a sharp, but short, bitterness and a light body, it made this beer perfect for crushing on a hot day. The flavour was packed with citrus notes from start to finish, with grapefruit, lemon, and orange lingering through into the aftertaste.
Rydeen Session IPA : The Bottom Line
A solid, well-made session IPA from Hakkaisan Brewery – let’s hope this one stays around.
