Background
Odawara Garage Brewing is a craft beer brewery located in Odawara, Kanagawa, which opened in March 2023. The brewery and taproom are located in the same building; the first floor consisting of the brewery and garage aspects, and the second floor being the taproom.
The main driving point behind Odawara Garage Brewing Information is that they want to make delicious beer that people want to come to Odawara to try. Moreover, they want to make beer that matches the local climate, though with Odawara being on the coast, and usually warm throughout the year, it’s unsure what they mean by it. Moreover, they want to make beer that is “made with agricultural products from Odawara”, so some of their beers are made using citrus fruits and other local products from Odawara.
The owner, and head brewer Muto-san, opened a bar bar that sold craft beer in Yokohama in 2017; however, due to the COVID pandemic, it closed down. After the closure of that bar, the Odawara Garage Brewing project began, but during that time I was working at Kagiya Brewery in Kawasaki. Moreover, Numazu Craft helped him with the basics of brewing in great detail, and took into consideration our limited budget when installing brewing equipment.
