Shared New Notion Potion : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Shared New Notion Potion poured out a slightly hazy straw colour with a thick plump white head on top that left some rings around the edge of the glass.
The aroma was a mixture of classic light yeasty phenols with a touch of apple alongside some notes of honey and citrus notes being present. As the beer warmed up, the aromas intermingled nicely with one another, and while it didn’t have the same dryness to a farmhouse ale that I like, there was life to the beer.
I liked the flavours that were present in this beer as well. As in the nose, there was a light apple phenol flavour permeating through the beer. The hops brought a light bitterness to the beer, detracting slightly from the apple flavour, while also bringing some faint citrus notes to the aftertaste. The flavours played off nicely with one another, and the beer was perfect for the random hot day in March.
Shared New Notion Potion : The Bottom Line
Shared New Notion Potion is a good take on a classic style.
