Hiroshima Neighborly Hondori Westside Classic IPA is a 6% American IPA from Hiroshima Neighborly Brewing, based in Hiroshima. It’s part of their regular lineup, and is available in both cans and on draught. The beer uses Nugget hops in the making and is so named with the idea of serving as a compass for Hiroshima Neighborly Brewing, which is located on the west side of the main street.

Hiroshima Neighborly Hondori Westside Classic IPA : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Hiroshima Neighborly Hondori Westside Classic IPA poured out a deep amber brown colour with a thick head on top, consisting of large white bubbles that left some streaks down the edge of the glass.
The beer had a strong old school American IPA aroma – not surprisingly with Nugget being the hop of choice. It’s a dank nose throughout with a particularly caramel like aroma to the beer. It was a straightforward aroma between those two notes throughout, with just a touch of citrus lying underneath.
Hiroshima Neighborly Hondori Westside Classic IPA had a medium body to it with more of the same dankness during drinking, and a light to medium sweetness of caramel being present. There wasn’t any off flavours to the beer, but it wasn’t really an exciting beer to drink as the flavours never diverged away.

A solid old school American IPA – it’s not going to offend the tastebuds but it is a nice tipple.
