Awaji Red Ale : Appearance
It poured out a light brownish red colour with a large amount of frothy off-white, light tan head that took an age to dissipate down. When it did, it left a thin layer of bubbles on top, with streaks down the side.
Awaji Red Ale : Aroma
Citrusy and floral aroma, with hints of lemon, and some light caramelised notes in the back as the beer warms up. No noticeable off aromas and seemed to be well balanced.
Awaji Red Ale : Taste
Light bitterness with a touch of citrus flavour on the palate. Rather simple with a low floral note being present alongside some light caramel tone too. As in the aroma, there weren’t any noticeable off flavours present, with no alcohol heat present either.
Awaji Red Ale : The Bottom Line
A simple, straightforward beer. Not going to win any awards for being outstanding, nor does it stand out for any reason.
