Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7 (and breathe) is a 5% American IPA from Oh! La! Ho Beer, based in Tomi city, in Nagano, Japan. It’s part of their Biere De Rydeen range, so a limited edition or seasonal beer, but who seems to know with Oh! La! Ho Beer. The name comes from their idea of this being their 9th batch of IPA but using their method of making number 7 to make this beer.
Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7 Aroma and Taste
Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7 poured out a hazy amber straw colour with a LOT of frothy white head on top that took ages to collapse in on itself. I’d hate to see what a fresh pint of this looks like. There was a strong grapefruit and lemon aroma coming off the beer, with a minimal amount of caramel malt coming through. It’s all about the hops in this one with a slight piney nose coming through once it had warmed up.
The body was more of the seem after the initial bitterness subsided. Citrus and grapefruit is the order of the day with Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7, along with a subtle caramel edge to the beer once it had warmed up. It finished off with a quick citrus flourish that didn’t outstay it’s welcome, though Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7 was more of a session IPA than an IPA in the end.
Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7 The Bottom Line
Oh! La! Ho Biere De Rydeen Plan 9 From Method 7 is a solid beer but nothing outstanding or worth keeping a “secret” over.
