In its 10th year now, Furusato Matsuri Tokyo offers up a wide range of delicacies from across Japan, which also includes craft beer. It’s held from January 12th until January 21st in the Tokyo Dome, so come rain or shine, you’ll stay dry and warm inside. The weekends are busy though so it’s not a bad idea to go along during the evenings if possible. From the 12th until the 20th, the event is on from 10:00 to 21:00, while on the 21st it’s on from 10:00 to 18:00.
The 2018 event is due to have over 100 breweries from across Japan, making it the largest non-craft beer specific festival that celebrates craft beer. It will involve a lot of walking though to get to all the breweries as the stalls are set up by regions. Expect Hokkaido breweries to be in the Hokkaido area, Kyushu breweries to be in the Kyushu area, and so on. Even the map provided by Furusato Matsuri Tokyo doesn’t have any guide to it.
Tickets for the event can be bought in advance at the Furasato Matsuri Tokyo 2018 site
- General tickets are ¥1,500 in advance or ¥1,700 on the day,
- Weekday tickets are ¥1,200 in advance or ¥1,400 on the day,
- Evening tickets (from 16:00) are ¥1,200.
