Rather than writing up individual reviews for these beers, we’ve come up with a page of beers for our recent trip to Beer Room Torikago – which is a brewpub located in Takamatsu, for White Sparrow, which is known as Shirosuzume in Japanese. As these are draught beers, there is no guarantee that they will be on tap if and when you go there.

White Sparrow Michishiba : Details
- Alcohol : 5%
- Style : Golden ale
- IBU : 32
White Sparrow Michishiba : Mini Review
Appearance : Light golden straw colour with a thick white head on top that clung to the glass like its life depended on it.
Aroma : Slight funky yeasty phenolic aroma but pleasant with some light floral notes from hops. Crisp sweetness from the malts.
Body : Light with a touch of bitterness at the front, though the Belgian yeasty funk came through soon after. Dry body, with a touch of floral hoppy flavour. BEST OF THE BUNCH.

White Sparrow Koganeuo : Details
- Alcohol : 5.5%
- Style : American pale ale
- IBU : 18
White Sparrow Koganeuo : Mini Review
Appearance : Brighter lemon colour than expected, with a haze to the body. Head was thick and also clung to the side of the glass.
Aroma : Crisp hoppy aroma of citrus notes – some lemon and orange being present. Light malt aroma as the beer warms up but not enough to detract from the hops.
Body : Long lasting, if light, bitterness that moves towards a lemon and orange flavour during drinking. Crisp body from start to finish with a dry body.

White Sparrow Kaeriawaji : Details
- Alcohol : 6%
- Style : Fruit beer
- IBU : 15
White Sparrow Kaeriawaji : Mini Review
Appearance : Hazy golden colour with a plump white head on top that left some thick sticky rings around the edge of the glass during drinking.
Aroma : Initial orange aroma with an interweaving banana phenol aroma from the yeast. Peculiar but also pleasant. Light malt sweetness with some malt sweetness.
Body : Mixture of banana, orange, and pineapple in the body – more like a juice than a beer. Medium bodied with a solid mouthfeel and a touch of sweetness to bring it all together.

White Sparrow Kanatokogumo : Details
- Alcohol : 5%
- Style : Belgian stout
- IBU : 21
White Sparrow Kanatokogumo : Mini Review
Appearance : Pitch black body with an ever-so-slight off white head that lingered for what seemed to be an age.
Aroma : Hints of chocolate and coffee throughout with a light Belgian yeast phenol nose to it all. Light roasted black malt aroma later on as it warms.
Body : Chocolate and coffee to start, though a subtle cherry-like flavour is present as the beer warms up. Light for a stout and easy drinking.
