Taros Awakening #2 : Background
Taros Awakening #2 is a 6% Hazy IPA from Taros Brewing, based in Hiroshima, in Hiroshima. It’s part of their regular lineup and is available in both cans and on draught. It’s brewed with Cryo Centennial, Cryo Simcoe, and El Dorado hops though like other beers from Taros Brewing, the recipe can change around with this version being the third iteration of this beer. Finally, Taros Awakening #2 has been triple dry hopped, though it means it’s been dry hopped three different times, or dry hopped with three times the regular amount of hops is unknown.

Taros Awakening #2 : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Taros Awakening #2 poured out a vibrant golden lemon colour with a plump white head that clung to the side of the glass for its life. During drinking, the head only dissipated slightly, with it leaving some thick white rings around the edge.
The aroma was punchy and vibrant too. Lots going on in Taros Awakening #2 with mostly citrus notes dominating through which consisted of grapefruit, lemon, and orange. As the beer warmed up, some tropical notes were also present with a touch of pineapple, and also a malt sweetness that brought all the beer together.
With so much going on in the nose, it wasn’t unexpected that the body would also have lots going on. And it was more of the same with lots of citrus aromas swirling around – grapefruit, lemon, and orange – alongside some tropical flavours thrown in for good measure, with pineapple and also mango coming through towards the end. The malt sweetness had a candied like taste to it, and helped support everything that was going on.

A delicious well made beer that is smooth on the palate and showcases the hops extremely well.
