Zenba Shoten : Background
Once again, we’re in Atami for this one. Yet this shop screamed from the outside that there was craft beer with its inconspicuous facade hiding what was inside. Though while there wasn’t much inside, there was enough to pique our interest to have a look.
We weren’t disappointed with Zenba Shoten having craft beer, though the selection was pretty small by most Off The Beaten Track standards. That’s probably because Atami is a dearth of craft beer anyway, which to this day still doesn’t make any sense. A lot of tourists – both Japanese and foreigners – come here for some rest and relaxation, and this main street down to the beach offers up plenty of choices.
The beers in the shop on the day were from Izu no Kuni Beer and Rakuno Okoku Oratche, who brew under the Kaze no Tani Beer. Still, it’s a good chance to pick up some beers here for the walk down to the beach – there really isn’t much else here really.
