Background
Hiroshima Neighbourly Brewing is a microbrewery that opened in 2020 in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The brewery is located on Hondori, the commercial and cultural centre of Hiroshima, right next to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a symbol of the city.
Their concept of “Beer is a drink that makes you smile,” and uses ingredients from Hiroshima Prefecture as much as possible to brew beer that you will want to drink again and again. They set up the brewery in the center of Hiroshima city, so that people can feel closer to craft beer and enjoy it.

The following are some of the beers we’ve had:
- Hiroshima Neighbourly Hinode Lager – A 4.5% Japanese lager that uses light-colored malt and amber malt, with wood chips from Kitahiroshima Town.
- Hiroshima Neighbourly Hondori Westside Classic IPA – A 6% American IPA that uses imported American hops though which ones are unknown at the time of writing.
- Hiroshima Neighbourly Lemo-vel GO HIROSHIMA – A 5% fruited pale ale that uses organic lemons and navel oranges from a citrus farms in Tatemichiya and a citrus farm in Setoda, Onomichi.
- Hiroshima Neighbourly Lemon Session IPA – A 5% fruited session IPA that uses organic lemons alongside Cascade and Citra hops.
- Hiroshima Neighbourly Nicaragua Coffee Stout – A 5.5% coffee stout that uses coffee beans from Limoncillo Farm in Nicaragua which were selected by OBSCURA COFFEE ROASTERS, also based in Hiroshima
