Passific Poison Remover is a 6% saison from Passific Brewing, based in Chigasaki, in Kanagawa, Japan. It’s part of their canned and draughty lineup. Passific Poison Remover is dry hopped though which ones used are unknown at the time of writing. The beer gets its name from the idea that hops have a detoxification effect on the body though with the amount of beer consumed at BeerTengoku, we’re yet to see any effects of hops in terms of becoming virile gods.

Passific Poison Remover : Aroma & Taste

Passific Poison Remover poured out a slightly hazy golden orange colour with a medium amount of white head on top, though it didn’t last long before leaving some white streaks down the side of the glass. The aroma was mixture of hops and fruity yeast phenols. In terms of hops, there was a clear citrus aroma of lemon and grapefruits but the phenols from the yeast were more peach-like. The malt brought a slight touch of sweetness to the beer but not enough to detract away from the hops and yeast.

The body to Passific Poison Remover began with a fruity concoction going on that was not too dissimilar to the nose. Citrus and phenols that lingered on the palate. However, the body was a bit bolder than I usually like in my saisons with the malt being a bit stronger and sweeter than usual. It wasn’t detracting enough to take away from the hops and yeast, but it was enough that on a surprisingly hot spring day, Passific Poison Remover wasn’t as thirst quenching as I was hoping for. The aftertaste kept with the main flavours of hops, yeast, and malts though it did leave a sweet aftertaste more than anything.

Passific Poison Remover : The Bottom Line

Passific Poison Remover isn’t a bad saison if you’re thinking that, it’s just I prefer drier saisons over this.
