Kakitagawa Brewing is the brewery for the brewpub for the bar Numazu Craft, based in Numazu, in Shizuoka, Japan. The brewery started in October 2016 with the ethos of “slow beer, slow life” after the head brewer, Tetsuya Kataoka, decided to leave Baird Beer, also located in the area, to start up his own brewery. In November 2017, brewing equipment was installed from Portland Kettleworks, Inc. in Portland, Oregon, USA and Kakitagawa Brewing obtained their brewing license on January 16, 2018 with their first brewed beer being an IPA and was launched on February 17, 2018. In March of the same year, Kakitagawa Brewing opened Numazu Craft Beer Field, a direct-run blue pub operated by Kakinagawa Brewing, near Mishima Station. This store was originally a beer bar called “Beer Wind” which opened on November 3, 2015 but closed due to financial issues.
