Background
Kurashige Saketen was a random find for BeerTengoku. It was a search for some beers – I forget what they were now – but this shop came up as one the search results. Lo and behold, after a short skim across the online shop, I found a number of beers I was interested in and ended up buying some. They arrived pretty quickly considering the shop is based in Fukuoka, in Kyushu, and more importantly, they arrived cold.
There is a wide range of domestic beers available, with a mixture of “new” breweries and more established ones, alongside a variety of styles for purchase. Moreover, I found the prices to be reasonable in comparison to stores that are closer to BeerTengoku Towers in Kanto.
The online shop is easy to navigate. If you can’t read Japanese, then there is the in-browser function to help you translate what is on screen. Thankfully, no clunky Rakuten e-commerce site here to navigate around. There is still some room for improvement. It would be nice to have a larger number of beers on screen, but that is a minor quibble really.
For those who do live in the Fukuoka area, Kurashige Saketen does have a physical presence in the area. You can pop in for a couple of beers to drink in store, or get a takeaway.
