Rather than writing up individual reviews for these beers, we’ve come up with a page of beers for our recent trip to Taproom Pherment – which is a brewpub located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. As these are draught beers, there is no guarantee that they will be on tap if and when you go there.

Taproom Pherment Beer 2

Taproom Pherment West Coast IPA : Details

  • Alcohol : 7.5%
  • Style : West Coast IPA
  • IBU :

Taproom Pherment West Coast IPA : Mini Review

Appearance : Slighty hazy though a vibrant golden colour with a few bubbles on top.

Aroma : Dank, resinous pine notes throughtout alongside citrus and tropical notes in the back. Touch of sweetness from the malts.

Body : Medium bitterness with strong resinous pine notes, paired up with light citrus and medium tropical notes. BEST OF THE BUNCH.

Taproom Pherment Beer 3

Taproom Pherment Pale Ale (Green Tea) : Details

  • Alcohol : 5.5%
  • Style : American Pale Ale with Green Tea
  • IBU :

Taproom Pherment Pale Ale (Green Tea) : Mini Review

Appearance : Very cloudy, muted yellow colour, few bubbles around the top.

Aroma : Too much green tea in this one. Strong notes of it with barely any pale ale aroma present.

Body : Astringent and tea like, hard to finish more than a half. As it warms, some lemon present but not enough to warrant a good review.

Taproom Pherment Beer 4

Taproom Pherment Hazy IPA : Details

  • Alcohol : 7.2%
  • Style : Hazy IPA
  • IBU :

Taproom Pherment Hazy IPA : Mini Review

Appearance : Hazy vibrant yellow body with a thin layer of small white bubbles on top.

Aroma : Lashings of stone fruits alongside some tropical notes from the hops. Touch of malt sweetness but not overpowering. Slight alcohol heat present as the beer warms up.

Body : Medium bodied with lots of fruitiness present. Tropical, stone fruit notes, with a base citrus underbelly present. Slightly sweet when warm but well made beer.
