Keyaki Beer Festival Spring 2017 in Saitama

The Keyaki Beer Festival Spring 2017 is the seventeenth one in what is now a biannual event held in the vicinity of the Saitama Super Arena; once in spring and also an autumn event too. Featuring over fifty craft beer companies and bars from Japan and overseas, the Keyaki Beer Festival Autumn is a five-day event, from the 17th May to the 21st May with plenty of choice for everyone.

With beers starting from ¥300 in price for roughly small sizes of about 250ml, and ¥500 the most common starting price for medium-sized classes. There are also craft beer tastings sets as well for customers to try from most of the breweries as well, that start from ¥1000 for 4 different beers. Some of the breweries, for example Outsider Brewing, Nasu Kougen Beer, and Shonan Beer have produced some special beers that can only be tried at the Keyaki Beer Festival Spring. Even more incentive to go, as if you needed it.

Moreover, there is also a bottle shop where you can pick up some of the beers to take home with you. Be careful though – after last year’s event, we ended up breaking a couple of bottles after consuming a tad too much beer.

The Keyaki Beer Festival Spring really should be an event anyone with an interest in Japanese craft beer attends. We attended last year’s event and the only problem we found was ensuring we didn’t drink too much.
