Bay Brewing Sara : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

Bay Brewing Sara poured out a deep hazy golden orange colour with a thick white head on top, consisting of medium sized bubbles, that stuck to the side of the glass throughout drinking. There were some streaks to the head, with a small pool of head remaining at the end of the beer.

Unlike Bay Brewing Pedaling For IPA, this beer had a lot more oomph to the aroma, even though it had come out of the fridge about two minutes. I really should let my beers warm up, but sometimes you don’t need it. Bay Brewing Sara had a big tropical and citrus aroma, which eminated from the can once it had been opened. It consisted of some mango and pineapple, alongside some lemon and orange citrus notes blended together nicely. Underneath all of the hoppiness was a light dusting of malt sweetness, though not enough to detract away from the hops.

All of the flavours in the body were present from the aroma, with a bountiful amount of citrus and tropical flavours permeating through the light malt sweetness. The mango and pineapple were full-bodied, with a slight bitterness lingering underneath the citrus lemon and orange notes. The body was smooth and easy-drinking, and at 6.5%, the alcohol was at the right level as to not be too hot, or cut through the beer.

Bay Brewing Sara : The Bottom Line

Now I’d be happy to ride out for a can or six of Bay Brewing Sara – a well-rounded beer that is more than welcome in my bidon.
