Beer Again Lefty Mikity is a 6.5% West Coast IPA from Beer Again Brewing, based in Gotemba, Shizuoka. It’s part of their bottled and draught lineup, though its availability is unknown at the time of writing. The beer is brewed using a combination of Amarillo, Cascade, Columbus and Mosaic hops.

Beer Again Lefty Mikity : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Beer Again Lefty Mikity poured out a deep honey colour with a massive amount of frothy white head on top, that took an age to settle down. It left some thick rings around the edge of the glass during drinking once it had settled down though.
This beer was a sensory assault, in the best way possible, on the olfactory senses. Lashing of dank, resinous pine was prominent throughout drinking, which gave way to a bouquet of citrus and tropical notes : lemon and pineapple, grapefruit and mango. Beer Again Lefty Mikity was just a delight to sit back and sniff on, and with a light caramel aroma from the malts underpining it all, I knew at some point that we had to get on with drinking this beer.
Beer Again Lefty Mikity didn’t let up in the body either. It started with a strong, punchy bitterness that meant business; however, it didn’t linger. The dank resinous pine flavour was the dominant flavour when the beer was chilled; yet it opened up as the beer warmed up. More of that same citrus and tropical present in the nose was found in the body, with the same flavour notes. With a medium body and some caramel flavour helping to support the hops, I couldn’t help but smile as I enjoyed this beer.

A fantastic effort here – blending old school hops with new modern flavours. Wish I had bought more of this now.
