Rather than writing up individual reviews for these beers, we’ve come up with a page of beers for our recent trip to This Brewing – which is a bar located in the Taitio area of Tokyo, near to Ueno Station. As these are draught beers, there is no guarantee that they will be on tap if and when you go there.

- Alcohol : 5.5%
- Style : Witbier
- IBU : –
This Wit : Mini Review
Appearance : Cloudy body with a light honey colour to the body and a light amount of clean, white head. The head didn’t last long, and left no marks on the glass.
Aroma : Slight spicy note to start with a subtle yeast phenolic kick as the beer warms up. Faint note of citrus notes of lemon moreso as the beer gets warmer.
Body : Comparatively clean compared to the nose, with a crisp body. Light and refreshing with the citrus notes interplaying nicely with the spicey notes laying underneath. Best of the bunch.

- Alcohol : 5.5%

This Smash Pale Ale : Mini Review
Appearance : Darker and cloudier than expected for an American pale ale. Thin layer of head that collapsed and dissipated quickly.
Aroma : Musty, perhaps oxidised beer, with some notes of citrus – grapefruit and lemon – alongside a pronounced malt sweetness.
Body : Muddled for me – lots going on and rather unbalanced in terms of what an APA should be like. Drinkable but confused really.
