Open Air Warm Up : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Open Air Warm Up poured out a dull orange colour with a plump white head on top made up of small bubbles that popped away, though enough of them remained to leave a thick sticky ring around the side of the glass.
The aroma was jam packed with citrus and tropical fruits. So much so that Open Air Warm Up smelt more like a mixed juice rather than a beer. Citrus notes of grapefruit, lemon, and orange came through alongside a tropical mix of mango, papaya, and some pineapple. Underneath it all was a clean, but sticky, malt sweetness that lingered through, but never really cut through the hops to undermine them.
With such a large hop presence in the nose, I was hoping for more of the same during drinking and I got it. More of that citrus and tropical profile was present in the body, though the orange flavour, alongside the pineapple, seemed to cut through the most. The stickiness from the malts made this more of a medium bodied beer, though I couldn’t find any fault with it at all. The “juiciness” of the beer
