Bighand Bros Zircon : Background
Bighand Bros Zircon is a British golden ale from Bighand Bros Beer, based in Kyoto, Japan. It’s part of their regular lineup and is available in both cans and on tap. Bighand Bros Zircon is named after the mineral Zircon with the implication of it being the oldest mineral on Earth, though what that has to do with this beer is beyond me. At the time of writing, it’s also unknown what hops went into making this beer.

Bighand Bros Zircon : Appearance
Light straw colour with a big frothy clean white head on top that was made up of some largish bubbles that left a few small ones on top throughout drinking.
Bighand Bros Zircon : Aroma
Floral aroma with a bit of light malt aroma present. A little biscuity with some earthy hop nuance as the beer warms up. No alcohol heat or off aromas noted. Touch of light citrus notes too though more secondary aromas than being ones of prominence.
Bighand Bros Zircon : Taste
Light bodied, with a refreshing crips bite to it – would have been perfect on a summer’s day. Floral and earthy hop profile with some light bitterness present as well during drinking. Slight toasted malt profile as the beer warms up though well balanced with the hops. Notes of citrus – lemon more so than anything else – as Bighand Bros Zircon warms up, with a lingering hop aftertaste.
Bighand Bros Zircon : The Bottom Line
Bighand Bros Zircon is a delicious beer that I will definitely be having again – if I can find it.
