Nobody The Slowcore : Background
Nobody The Slowcore is a 3.5% session IPA from Nobody Brewing, the sister brewery to Teenage Brewing based in Saitama. It’s part of their draught and canned lineup, though its availability is unknown at the time of writing. Though the hops used in the beer are unknown at the time of writing, the idea behind Nobody The Slowcore is to make a low-alcohol beer that doesn’t skimp on flavour.

Nobody The Slowcore : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Nobody The Slowcore poured out a hazy golden yellow colour with the meagrest of white heads on top – what head there was just dissipated away to a few bubbles around the edge of the glass, and then just seemed to give up on life really. And it wasn’t even gradual, the head lasted less time than it took me more time to get my camera out, take a picture and check the picture.
The aroma though was not meagre as the hops brought this beer to life. Lashings of citrus and tropical notes were present in the beer – think grapefruit and lemon alongside some mango and pineapple – and the aromas grew stronger as the beer warmed up. There wasn’t much of a malt profile in comparison, with just a light sweetness coming through as the beer warmed up somewhat.
The body to Nobody The Slowcore was more of the same – a strong, in relation to the strength of the beer, flavour of hops. Lots of citrus and tropical notes going on in the body with a smooth, well-rounded bitterness from start to finish. At 3.5% the body was a bit thin for my liking, though the dryness found in the beer was refreshing, yet I couldn’t help but feel I wanted more body to the beer.
