Yokohama Saison is a 4.5% saison from Yokohama Beer, based in Yokohama, Kanagawa. It’s part of their canned lineup and was first available on April 1st, 2026, though it was not part of any April Fool’s Line up. It’s the sixth in their canned series of beers, as they slowly transition towards a canned lineup. This beer is brewed with Krush hops – unusual for a Saison – alongside some Belle Saison yeast.

Yokohama Saison : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Yokohama Saison poured out a slightly hazy golden colour – pretty much your prototypical saison colour really – with a small amount of frothy head though that didn’t last long as it dissiapted away to a few bubbles on top.
In terms of aroma, I didn’t really know what to expect. I think that this the first beer I’ve had with Krush hops, so I was immediately aware that it didn’t have your “usual” saison aroma, because there was a hoppy aroma of tropical fruits. It was an aroma that I really wasn’t expecting at all so of course, it immediately grabbed my attention. As the beer warmed up, the tropical aroma stabilised, rather than intensifying, and combined with a slight spicy note from the yeast.
The body began with a dry, spicy flavour, and though there was a slight hoppiness to the flavour, Yokohama Saison wasn’t overly bitter, nor astringent. The beer had a lingering dryness from start to finish, with some tropical notes lingering from the start in the form of mango and pineapple, right through to the end of drinking. It was perfect for the hot summer day that I drank it on.
