Y Market New Onigashima 3 Aroma and Taste

Y Market New Onigashima 3 poured out a light hazy golden colour with a small amount of fluffy white head on top that not even the fabled IPA glass could invigorate – seriously, this thing was flatter than a flat thing lying flat on some flat ground. However, the aroma more than made up for it with lashings of lemon, pineapple, melon, and mango coming through with just a faint hint of malt sweetness coming though – not much but just enough to cut through the mounds of fruit.

The beer wasn’t that bitter either. It was only when Y Market New Onigashima 3 had warmed up that its bitterness kicked in. The lashings of fruit were the continual theme throughout drinking – no surprises really but the lack of carbonation was interesting. Was this intentional? Who knows but it meant that Y Market New Onigashima 3 was more like a slightly carbonated juice bomb, than an actual beer. Y Market New Onigashima 3 finished off with a lingering melon and lemon flavour.

Y Market New Onigashima 3 The Bottom Line

When fresh, Y Market New Onigashima 3 is a cracking little beer. Shame it won’t hold up for that long – drink fresh, hops fade.
