Y Market Brewing Kitchen The Bottom Line

If you go to Nagoya, then you have to go to Y Market Brewing. Heck, if you live in Nagoya and havenā€™t been to Y Market Brewing Kitchen, then what are you doing?! Y Market Brewing Kitchen ticks all the right boxes that we love in a craft beer and we could have easily spent the rest of the day drinking and eating through the menus. The whole place is non-smoking, has no table charge, and a decent selection of beers too. The major downsides though to Y Market Brewing Kitchen is that it gets busy in the evenings, especially at the weekends, so make sure you book a table if you plan on going then. All of the menus have some English on them, so youā€™re bound to find it easy to order and there are also plenty of choices for vegetarians too.

Y Market Brewing Kitchen The Full Review

Y Market Brewing Kitchen opened in March 2014 and since then, has grown to be one of Nagoyaā€™s much loved craft beer bars. It has long been on our list of places to go to and when we finally got to Nagoya, it was also supposed to be our first port of call ā€“ but with the first night of our trip being a Friday also meant that Y Market Brewing Kitchen was full up, right into the late hours of the night.

Y Market Brewing Kitchen is located on the east side of Nagoya station, inbetween Nagoya station and Kokusai-center stations. Y Market Brewing Kitchen has three floors to the building ā€“ the first floor being the brewpub that is still in use, the second floor which is the main drinking area, and the third floor which is open for parties and BBQs, but full up on both days when we tried to get in. The second floor has space for about 50 people, with a variety of seating at tables, counter seats, and some terrace seating. To be honest, I kind of lost count after 50 seats due to the number of beers that had been consumed. However, the whole place is non-smoking and there is also no table charge at all, no matter which floor or where you sit.

There are 10 taps of craft beer on at Y Market Brewing Kitchen, with all of them being Y Market Brewingā€™s own in-house beers. Some are produced in the first floor brewery, while others are produced in the brewery in the northern part of Nagoya. The beers come in two different sizes: regular (330ml) from Ā„800 to Ā„980 and large (490ml) from Ā„1100 to Ā„1280. The prices include tax so it does make Y Market Brewing Kitchen a little cheaper than other bars in comparison. However, there were no beer flights on nor any happy hours. Y Market Brewing does have beers to takeaway in the form of cans, but they can not be drunk on site.

There is a large variety of food on offer, from simple tapas style dishes to much larger style ones. Vegetarians can also rest in peace as there are plenty of options on the menu too. Moreover, all of the menus have enough English on them for people to order too, with each item also handily having an image next to it to help the ordering process. A nice little touch that was much appreciated compared to the majority of other places not having anything like this.
