Kaze no Tani Beer

Kaze no Tani Beer, also know as Wind Valley Beer in English, is a craft beer brewery located in Shizuoka, Japan. Founded in 1997, Kaze no Tani were the first Japanese brewery – either macro or craft beer – to be certified as organic, back in 2000. Unlike other breweries in Japan, the majority, if not all, of their beers use organic barley, grown in the local area, alongside fresh snow water pumped up 300m from an underground aquifer. Moreover, all of the imported materials Kaze no Tani Beer use for brewing are also certified as organic too.

Kaze no Tani Beer Lineup

The following are considered to be part of the all-year round lineup:

  • Wind Valley Izu Ale – a 5.5% English pale ale brewed using imported malt and hops from the UK.
  • Wind Valley Pilsner – a 5% Czech pilsner that was the first beer from Kaze no Tani to be considered organic.
  • Wind Valley Weizen – a 5% German hefeweizen brewed with 50% wheat and 50% malt.
  • Wind Valley Red – a 5.5% Amber / Irish red ale brewed using 85% organic malt.
