- Notable Aromas : Light pine aroma with some grapefruit and a light peach and strawberry when warm.
- Notable Tastes : Bitter but smooth. Grapefruit at first along with a pine note and a peach flavour. Low sweetness.
Nomcraft Fancy Spoon : Aroma & Taste
Nomcraft Fancy Spoon poured out a slightly hazy golden colour with a little bit of white head on top – I know what that picture shows but I was really trying to get as much beer into the class. It didn’t stop the aroma coming off though with a light pine dankness followed by some grapefruit citrus nose too. There was a peachiness to the nose which at first I attributed to some off flavours from some stressed yeast but it seems to be from the hops. Once Nomcraft Fancy Spoon had warmed up, there was a little bit of strawberry that came through which, while peculiar, is usual with Huell Melon hops.
Nomcraft Fancy Spoon started with a bitterness that smooth and fleeting, and gave way to some more of the familiar flavours that were in the nose – grapefruit and some pine notes. The peach flavour was again noticeable in the body as Nomcraft Fancy Spoon warmed up. It wasn’t unpleasant but I am not a big fan of peach notes in beers as sometimes they can be attributed to off flavours from yeast – a bit of a warning sign. There was a low sweetness to the beer, enough to be noted but not enough to detract from the hops.

Nomcraft Fancy Spoon is a drinkable and smooth IPA – ticks all the right boxes if you like peaches as well.
