Black Tide Midnight Chaos

Black Tide Midnight Chaos Aroma and Taste

Black Tide Midnight Chaos poured out a pitch black colour, with a large amount of frothy, tan coloured head that faded to a few bubbles around the outside of the glass, with an oily slick on top. It had a strong and clean aroma of chocolate, coffee, and black malt, with an underlying creamy aroma once Black Tide Midnight Chaos had warmed up somewhat. There was a light hint of ashiness to the aroma too, though it wasn’t overpowering.

The body of Black Tide Midnight Chaos started off smooth, with some chocolate, coffee, and creamy flavours coming through. The addition of the oatmeal gave the body a light chewiness to the body, and also some depth to the body, without making it too gloopy. Once Black Tide Midnight Chaos had warmed up, there was a light caramel flavour that came though the darker flavours on offer, and gave the beer some extra dimension to it. The lingering dark and roasted flavours lingered through into the aftertaste, leaving a subtle creamy flavour.
