Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale is a 5% pale ale from Y Market Brewing, based in Nagoya, in Aichi, Japan. It’s part of their year round range and can be found in both cans and on tap across bars. Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale is brewed using imported US Mosaic hops for aroma and Citra hops, which are used for both bittering and aroma.

Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale Aroma and Taste

Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale poured out a slight hazy golden straw colour with a minimal amount of fluffy white head – a shame as it had some big bubbles, but what head there was just collapsed too quickly to take a picture of. The beer had a strong lemon and papaya nose to it, along with a subtle dankness that lied just beneath the fruity aromas. There was no discernible malt aroma when Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale was chilled; however, it became a bit more apparent once it had warmed up.

Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale did start off with a slight bitter kick though it faded fast to leave a sticky, dank, citrus base behind – nothing to blow your head off or set your taste buds on fire, but enough to make you notice it. The lemon and papaya flavours – seemingly a stalwart of Y Market Brewing’s arsenal – were well-balanced but it would have been nice to have tasted something a bit different. However, don’t let that detract from the fact that Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale was incredibly smooth and easy drinking.

Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale The Bottom Line

Y Market Another Sky Pale Ale is a crushable, and very likeable, pale ale. Let’s hope Y Market Brewing add some more hop flavours to their lineup though.
