Tsukuba Craft Beer Fest 2017 LogoTsukuba Craft Beer Fest 2017 is a three day craft beer event in Tsukuba, Ibaraki and it’s held from September 29th to October 1st. It’s also been ranked number 10 in the “Beer Event I Want To Go To” according to NIKKEI STYLE (if that actually means something). The event is held at Tsukuba Center Plaza, less than a couple of minutes from Tsukuba station itself.

The event is a pay-as-you-go, our favourite kind, so there is no entry fee. Tsukuba Center Plaza is open on Friday 29th September from 15:00 to 22:00 (L.O 21:00), Saturday 30th September from 11:00 to 22:00 (L.O 21:00), and Sunday 1st October from 11:oo to 19:00 (L.O 18:00). However, even though the event is free, at the time of writing, the prices of the beers have not been released so expect each stall to be setting their own prices.

At the time of writing, there are 18 breweries and stores in attendance that we’ve listed below:

Besides craft beer, you can also expect some food and music from various styles of music (hopefully no J-Pop) throughout the day with the homepage listing the bands that are expected to be playing.

I understand from Miwa at The Warrior Celt who own the British beer importer, Inn Beers that they’ll also be there at Tsukuba as they will be at Keyaki Hiroba too. I’ve had some of their new import from the Coventry micro-brewery Twisted Barrel & it’s pretty good.
