Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae The Bottom Line

Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae is a nice little diversion in the hustle and bustle of the area though it’s not really worth trekking out for. As always, Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae doesn’t differ from the tried-and-tested formula of the chain – cheap craft beer, plenty of choices, tax included, and no smoking. There is free Wifi too with the password written on the menu, and some English is spoken too. The outside drinking area is small mind, and open to the elements. Unfortunately, there is a table charge that has to be paid as well.

Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae The Full Review

Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae is the fourth in the ever expanding range of Craft Beer Markets, with there being nine stores and a plan for a tenth in Kanda at the time of writing. Without wanting to rehash much of the other reviews, it doesn’t differ too much from the other branches so this is going to be a much shorter review as I feel we’ve covered enough about them in other reviews.

Located a couple of minutes walk from Mitsukoshimae station on the Tokyo Metro Lines, Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae is found at the back of the Coredo 3 shopping centre (not Coedo as I was soon disappointed to find out) and has space for about 40 people inside with a mix between counter seating and high tables – so the same as the other branches. There is also a small area outside for drinking though it’s open to the elements, so bring suitable clothing. The whole place is non-smoking, though there is a table charge of ¥300 to be paid, for which you get a small bowl of mixed nuts.

Four beers, strange sizes though and iffy pours.

Brimmer India Common Lager - Very nice

Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae offers 30 taps of beer, with 3 of those being dedicated to domestic macro beers, and the other 27 being dedicated to both domestic and imported craft beer. Beers come in two sizes: glasses at 250ml for ¥480 and pints at 473ml for ¥780. Both prices include tax though the pourings do vary greatly – the bane of the Craft Beer Market chain. Unlike the other branches, Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae does offer a four-beer tasting set; either of your choice of the bar manager’s recommendation of the day, though the portion sizes do vary between the strength of beer. It’s supposed to be ¥1,200 for four 150ml beers but if you ask for a “strong” beer, then expect something much less.

Something smells fishy to me.

Utsunomiya Gyoza again and lovely.

The food at Craft Beer Market Mitsukoshimae is geared grilled meats and fish, so if you’re a vegetarian, then you’re going to have a bad time. The gyoza were large and tasty however, and well recommended.
