Craft Beer Holiday

After the 2015 event being so popular, Craft Beer Holiday has moved to April for 2016 this year. Craft Beer Holiday is a four-day craft beer festival held at the park around Osaka castle, known as Osakajokoen from Thursday 21st April to Sunday 24th April. In 2015, over twenty breweries from across Japan came for the four days of drinking and relaxing in the park with an impressive view of Osaka Castle.

Craft Beer Holiday Glass

A beautiful glass.

Craft Beer Holiday starts on Thursday 21st April at 17:00 until 21:00, then on Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 21:00 while the last day Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00 to give people a chance to recover for the first day back at work on the Monday. Tickets cost ¥3,200 in advance, which go on sale from Tuesday 1st March, and for this you get ten beer tickets and an original glass. This year though the ticket system has changed with two tickets needed for one drink of 360ml of beer. Moreover, the tickets can be used to either buy beer or food on the day.

If you buy the ticket on the day, the price goes up to ¥3,500 for the same amount of tickets and original glass. It’s important to note that beers can only be served in the original glass or a specified glass from the events, so keep ahold of it and don’t lose it, drop it, break it, or other things that usually happen after too many beers. Additional tickets cost ¥1,000 on the day for a two drinks, while a special glass can be bought for ¥1,250.

It means we can’t get half glass of beer with one ticket anymore? Too bad, it’s always fun to try a lot of different beers in these kind of festivals.
They should also sell 10-tickets sets without the glass. If we reuse last year’s glass, it’s cheaper to buy individual tickets. :/

Not that clear I’m afraid. I emailed the organisers but haven’t got a reply back yet.
I guess it might be possible to use a plastic cup if they have any to use.
