Bayern Meister Bier Logo

Bayern Meister Bier is a craft beer brewery located in Fujinomiya city, in Shizuoka. Bayern Meister Beer opened in 2004 and is also Japan’s first Bavarian-style brewery in Japan, under the auspicious eyes of head brewer Stephen Rager. Before opening, he visited over 150 different springs to find the best water suited to the traditional styles of beers from Germany. All the beers at Bayern Meister Bier are brewed using the Reinheitsgebot, aka the German Purity Laws, and as such, only contain malt, yeast, water, and hops. The hops and malt are from southern Germany while the yeast is sourced from the world famous Weihenstephan yeast bank.

Since opening in 2004, Bayern Meister Bier have also been one of the major suppliers of beer to German events in Japan, such as at the German Embassy and also German school in Tokyo.
