Roti’s House Harvestmoon One Paragraph Review

If you want to try the Harvestmoon range of beers on tap, then there is no better place than at the source, so combine the Disneyland day with a few craft beers. However, and there is always a however, it’s not really worth the trip if you have to come a long way. The beers are good value for money and the atmosphere is interesting. The food is also good value for money and the prices do include tax, if you look at the menu closely enough. The whole bar is non-smoking and also has Wifi. With the influx of foreign tourists, the menus do include some English and some of the staff do speak English too.

Roti’s House Harvestmoon is the taproom for the Harvestmoon range of craft beer and is located on the fourth floor of the Ikspiari complex, minutes away from JR Maihama station – and also Tokyo Disneyland. The brewery is located on-site and there are occasional (paid) tours of the location – a theme park for beer perhaps?

The whole taproom is huge – it’s perhaps one of the biggest I’ve been to in my life, let alone in Japan. On the evening that I went, the raucous laughter and conversation could be heard from across the complex. There is seating outside of about 6 tables, though that seemed to be the smoking area. Inside, well, I lost count at how many people could sit inside but it was upwards of 200 people when I lost count after the fourth beer. Inside, Roti’s House Harvestmoon had the appearance of Mexican villa. Thankfully there wasn’t any table charge for anywhere in the taproom.

There are seven taps of Harvestmoon beer on at any one time – with five of them being part of their regular lineup and two being dedicated to seasonal beers. Beers come in two sizes, a glass (~350ml) for ¥518 to ¥572. With those obscure numbers, you can clearly see that tax has been included though on the menu it does look small in comparison to the price without tax, but it’s listed right under the price strangely enough. There are also 1.8L pitchers available to share, if you’re so inclined, or drink through yourself.

The food at Roti’s House Harvestmoon is primarily based on rotisserie meats, hence the name. On the other hand, the taproom does have one of the best salad bars in Japan – yes, I like some salad from time to time – but what you’re probably most in anticipation of is our review of the chips. And they’re great! Slightly crunchy and voluminous – especially if you order the large portion. Prices do include tax under the regular price so do make sure to look carefully at the menu. It’s a sly way of doing business but at least the price with tax is listed.
