Nara Multiplies IPA is a 6.5% American IPA from Nara Brewing Company, based in Nara, Japan. It’s part of their draft line up and can be found on sale across Japan. Nara Multiplies IPA is brewed using Mosaic, Galaxy,, and Merkur hops, along with Two Row Pale, Pilsner Malt, and Carapils malt.

Nara Multiplies IPA Aroma and Taste

Nara Multiplies IPA came served a light golden straw colour with a small amount of pure white head that faded quickly. The aroma coming off Nara Multiplies IPA was fruity to say the least – oranges, mango, and pineapple came through with a subtle edge of crackery breadiness from the malts. The aromas were well-balanced and had a long lasting quality to them.

The initial bitterness to Nara Multiplies IPA was strong but faded to a smooth lingering edge throughout drinking. Nara Multiplies IPA was a hop forward beer with the hops bringing orange, mango, pineapple, and also some citrus flavours to the beer once it had warmed up. The malts were noticeable, but in the background, with the crackery breadiness just lingering there and being picked up on. Overall, Nara Multiplies IPA has similar qualities to a NE-IPA – fruity and juicy – but looked like a regular American IPA. It finished off with a lingering fruitiness on the tongue.

Nara Multiplies IPA The Bottom Line

It’s our first time to have Nara Brewing Company on BeerTengoku – and with a beer this good, I doubt it will be the last.
