Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA is a 6% American IPA from Ise Kadoya, based in Mie, Japan. It’s part of their winter seasonal lineup and Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA can be found in both bottles and on tap across Japan. It’s brewed with imported Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, and Simcoe hops from the USA. It was first released in 2015 and made its second appearance towards the end of 2016.

Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA Aroma and Taste

Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA poured out with quite a clear orange body though there was some haziness to it, along with a fluffy plump white head on top, which lasted for an impressive amount of time before collapsing to a thin layer of bubbles on top. With four kinds of hops going on, and perhaps the hops that have become synonymous with American IPAs, there was a plethora of aromas going on – citrus lemony grapefruit, along with some earthy pine tones as well. A lot going on in there, which meant the sweetness of the malts was hard to detect until it had warmed up a lot. But by that time, it had mostly been drunk…

The taste of Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA is more of the same but with an additional bitterness to it. It had plenty of citrus and pine notes to it, and there was an ever-so-slight sweetness to it but Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA is all about the hops. The beer was well carbonated, and had a crisp, dry bite to it that lifted the bitterness a bit. It finished off with a lemony bitterness to it that didn’t linger for long.

Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA The Bottom Line

Ise Kadoya have pumped out a lot of IPAs, and while some of them have been more misses, Ise Kadoya Lush Hop IPA is solid dependable IPA.
