Beer Bar The Pint One Paragraph Review

If you are in the Shin-Maruko area, then Beer Bar The Pint is worth popping in. It doesn’t offer enough to make a special trip to though the beers on tap are in very good quality. You can try some of the Hideji Miyazaki range of beers on tap that are often hard to come across in Kanto. The beers are reasonably priced and all the prices include tax, as well as there not being a table charge. The bar is also non-smoking too though the menus appeared to be in Japanese only. There wasn’t any WiFi nor was there any form of happy hour.

Cosy little bar with a nice atmosphere.

Beer Bar The Pint Full Review

Beer Bar The Pint came recommended from a reader of BeerTengoku for the Hideji Miyazaki beers that are on tap and are supposedly served in the best condition in Japan. A bold claim but I do like me some well-served beers. Beer Bar The Pint is located a three-minute walk away from Shin-Maruko station, a tiny local station on the Toyoko and Meguro line. It’s located on a side street though it’s pretty easy to find as it’s a simple “go straight from the station and take the fourth right” effort.

The inside of Beer Bar The Pint isn’t that large with space for about ten people at the counter, a couple of tables dotted around the side of the bar with space for another ten people, and one fold up table at the back for a couple of people to stand at and rest their drinks. There are a lot of glasses dotted around the bar from all over the world, and on the day I went, a cosy atmosphere with what seemed to be a non-stop music list of The Beatles playing throughout the time I was there. There isn’t any table charge at the counter or at the tables and the whole bar is non-smoking too.

At Beer Bar The Pint, there are about 10 taps of domestic craft beer on at any one time, with a couple of macro beers too from Guinness and Kirin as well, so it’s safe to bring your non-craft beer drinking friends too. Beers come in two sizes: half US pint from ¥550 to ¥750 and US pint from ¥1000 to ¥1200. There are also some imported bottles too for sale but be prepared to pay some serious money for them. Moreover, they can’t be taken out of the bar as well so you can forgot about taking that bottle of Cantillon home with you. All the prices include tax too so there are no little surprises at the end of the day.

Beer Bar The Pint Food Buffalo Chicken Wings – spicy but not much meat on them.

The food at Beer Bar The Pint consists of mostly small picking food, such as chips, though there are a couple of larger meals going. For a break in tradition, I went for the Buffalo chicken wings, and while they were certainly piquent, they were more the small tiny bits of chicken that is on a wing, and not the drumsticks I had become used to.
